📘 Introduction
The Mechanic Diesel Engine Trade is a specialized training program focused on the maintenance, repair, and overhauling of diesel engines used in vehicles, generators, agricultural equipment, and industrial machinery. Diesel engines power much of the world’s logistics and manufacturing backbone—making skilled technicians essential for smooth operation and efficiency.
Duration: 1 Year (2 Semesters)
🔧 Core Responsibilities
Trainees in the Mechanic Diesel Engine trade are trained to:
Inspect & Service Diesel Engines: Perform tuning, cleaning, and dismantling of single/multi-cylinder engines
Maintain Fuel Systems: Service injectors, fuel pumps, filters, tanks, and carburetion systems
Repair Air & Cooling Systems: Clean radiators, troubleshoot cooling systems, maintain air filters
Overhaul Engine Components: Work on cylinder heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, and valves
Diagnose Electrical Faults: Service starter motors, alternators, batteries, and wiring circuits
Operate Measuring Instruments: Use feeler gauges, micrometers, dial gauges, torque wrenches, etc.
Test Engine Performance: Conduct compression tests, load testing, and RPM checks
Handle Transmission & Lubrication Systems: Maintain gearboxes, clutch assemblies, and oil circulation
Follow Workshop Safety Norms: Use PPE, follow OSHE protocols, and perform fire safety drills
Maintain Service Records: Document jobs, inspection results, and parts replacement history
Practice Environmental Safety: Dispose waste fluids and materials responsibly
Use Lifting Equipment & Tools: Work with ramps, jacks, hoists, and hand tools safely
