The Technician Mechatronics Trade is a multi-disciplinary training program that merges mechanical, electrical, electronics, and computer control systems into one high-demand skill set. Mechatronics is the backbone of modern industrial automation and smart technologies.
🔧 Core Responsibilities
Technician Mechatronics trainees learn to carry out key tasks such as:
System Integration: Understand and integrate mechanical, electrical, and electronic subsystems
Industrial Automation: Install and program PLCs, HMIs, and sensors for automated operations
Control & Instrumentation: Setup and calibrate feedback systems, encoders, and controllers
Mechanical Assembly: Work with gears, linkages, actuators, and drive systems
Electrical Maintenance: Diagnose and rectify faults in wiring, panels, motors, and circuit boards
Electronic Diagnostics: Test and troubleshoot control boards, power supplies, and communication modules
Pneumatic & Hydraulic Systems: Assemble and maintain fluid power circuits and components
Engineering Drawing: Interpret and use technical drawings in assembly and design
Digital & Embedded Systems: Apply microcontroller basics and sensor interfacing
Safety & Environment: Adhere to OSHE protocols, PPE standards, and sustainable practices
Testing & Commissioning: Conduct performance tests and validate automation setups
Project Development: Build integrated mechatronic prototypes for real-world application
